New England matched their best victory streak since the Brady era as they overcame AFC East opponents the New York Jets by 13 points in professional football

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson shone brightly with three scores as the Patriots secured an eight-game winning streak for the first time since legendary quarterback Tom Brady's last year with the franchise in 2019

Quarterback Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a TD, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The win bolsters the Patriots advantage at the top of the division as they improved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York bottom after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The opposing team had gone in front at Foxborough with QB Fields rushing for a short rushing score to cap the New York's opening drive

But the New England fought back in the second period as Henderson ran in two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Maye at the rear of the endzone midway through the third period to push the score to 21 to 7

"It was a key occasion for him rising to the challenge, and it's been fantastic for him to keep earning playing time," Maye commented on the rookie. "He aims to be great."

Fields connected with John Metchie toward the end of the third period to reduce the lead for the Jets but Andy Borregales converted a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side closed out the victory
